Wherever you're spending your summer holidays, the right styling products are essential in ensuring you look great 24/7. From the beach to the pool to the terrace for cocktails, we line up our absolute fave products for hair care and styling in the sun.
so fresh, so clean
First up, you need to take the right cleansing products with you. We love Burt's Bees new range of shampoos and conditioners, particularly the lovely Super Shiny Mango set, which is sulphate-free, making it the perfect way to gently cleanse your hair before you take flight. Make sure you use the conditioner too - after five minutes hair will be silky soft and ready to be tucked away into a loose plait, protecting ends from the sun.
texture is key
If there's one thing that comes up every summer when it comes to hair, it's the T word: texture. Before you head off on your adventures, why not play around and see which type of texture product works best for you? If you have big, curly hair, you might want to try a dry shampoo - apply at the roots and massage in for instant volume. If your hair's fine then a beach or salt spray will work wonders - spray all over and toss your hair around or scrunch it up into a messy fishtail plait. We LOVE Play Ball's Beach Fizz and Structure's Beach Spray.
highlight those highlights
Whatever shade your hair is, a little shimmer and gloss never hurts. We love the glistening properties of Kérastase's Soleil Huile Celeste, which also protects our hair as it's enriched with macadamia oil. Just spray and go! Another shimmery treat is the divine BC Oil Miracle Gold Shimmer Treatment - perfect for those days when you want a slick look.
Once you're headed home, or you've spent a long day by the pool, it's time to wash away impurities and nasties like chlorine. While you're away, try a purifying shampoo - and book in at the salon for a quick trim and deep treatment once you're back.
